Long Ridge Rocks

I took a hike in one of the local open space preserves recently, to revisit an obscure rocky cliff that isn't on any of their trail maps.  They do, however, recognize that people still go this way, because if you know where to look there is a sign and a fairly well-beaten path down a drainage.

This trail gradually turns into a goat track as the drainage gets steeper, and eventually one finds a waterfall and caves.

There are rock climbing routes and good views along this stretch,

and naturally I had to climb onto a good perch to enjoy the views.  (Nothing too challenging, as I was alone that day...)  I like that this spot is not on the map, and relatively unknown.  We need more of these!
