Nimue plays trumpet

Nimue found my old trumpet when we were packing, and eagerly wanted to try some tootling... she did very well, and probably as good as I could, not having picked the thing up for nearly 20 years now!

Nimue's money collection

Accumulated from her allowance -- she has saved $11.16 (15.75 oz)
worth of coinage, and is heading off to Family Movie Night at school
to spend some of it on popcorn (at $0.25/bag, it will go far!)

POD delivery

Here comes the POD! Stuff from the other house will go in here until we've picked out a new place and moved.

Coffee roaster

At Dana Street Roasting Co. in Mountain View -- home of the best double-cappuccino in town! I think this roaster looks like an old train engine... it must like its job, check out the big smile on its face.

A Bunny

Nimue drew this up on her whiteboard yesterday. She was complaining about not being able to draw as precisely as some of her school friends, but I told her that many real artists aren't so concerned about how perfect the lines are... She is very proud to identify herself as an artist!

Nimue's longest ride yet

We took a good long ride today, Nimue and Chad on the tandem, Anna on her road bike, around "the Loop": a well-known local route that includes several modest hills and lots of nice scenery. We met up with Chad's friend Dave at Arastradero Park, and stopped for coffee & cocoa in Menlo Park before heading home. At nearly 36 miles, this was Nimue's longest ride so far, by a considerable margin! And, with more than 1200 feet of climbing, it wasn't the easiest terrain she's been on , either. She was a real trooper and had good spirits throughout, despite wind, hills, and an occasional sprinkle of rain.

Mommy is nice!

Mommy is nice on this hike, because she's reallly nice and wonderful. Because she's Mommy-good! And nice is coming through my heart.
The end.

The hike

This is a pretty picture -- I like it a lot because it was on me and my Mom's hike. It feels like it's cold, and it's plants look warm because it's the most wonderful picture I ever saw.

Micey!

The Bobber is nice because she's beautiful and very playful. I like her very much! And she's the best cat I ever saw, because she can jump gracefully. Every day and in her community, she is graceful. That's it!

Ice skating

Nimue's been taking skating classes on Monday evenings this month, with happy, but difficult-to -photograph results. What will be interesting is dragging the whole family skating, given that Chad hasn't been on ice skates since he was three. He's afraid Nimue will skate circles -- albeit slow ones -- around him.

Russian dolls

Nimue loves these "Russian dolls" that are all cats!
